Volunteer Opportunities

Option #1: Search for a long-term (typically semester or yearlong) Volunteer Opportunity on BroncoJobs:

  1. Log in to BroncoJobs.

  2. In the Jobs & Internship box, click on "More search options" next to the "Search" button.

  3. Under "More Searches," choose "Volunteer Opportunities."

  4. You can either enter a keyword or keywords to narrow your search or simply click "Search."

  5. Click "Job Title" to sort jobs by alphabetical order.

  6. Jobs are categorized by agencies’ areas of focus and names.

  7. Find out more information about the agency/organization and specific volunteer duties, decide which position(s) you prefer, and begin your volunteer experience.

  8. Give us feedback on the Volunteer Services website regarding you volunteer placement experience!

Art of Leadership Foundation

Agency/Organization Description:
At the Art of Leadership Foundation, the mission is to inspire vision and leadership in young people giving them the skills to succeed in their lives and to be leaders in thier communities.

Job Description: Mentor youth at the middle school and high school level in Kalamazoo. No experience is necessary, as course leaders will be there to direct. Help young people grow into leaders while growing your own skills and resume.

Job Qualifications: Committment to young people and helping them develop as successful leaders in their communities. High school program volunteers must be at least 23 years old.

Orientation/Training: Ongoing--outside of direct program training, volunteers go through the leadership development with students.

Days/Times Needed:
Middle School-Every other Thursday with alternating times (8:35 am-9:21am and 11:12 am-12:36 pm)
High School-Every other Sunday for three hours

Length of Committment:
Minimum one school year

Additional Information:
There is an overnight retreat and service project that may fall on the same day as sessions. Middle school location is Hillside Middle School and High School meets occur at Kalamazoo Deacon's Conference.
